Rebellion Against God
July 27, 2026
By Hal Mitchell
From the time Satan fell from being “The Anointed Cherub” until now, there has been a Demonic force on the earth to oppose God in every way possible. See Ezek. 28:14 – “You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire. (Walked is Past Tense)
The “anointed cherub” represents the origin of evil in the angelic realm and serves as a warning about pride and rebellion against God. His story illustrates the consequences of turning away from divine purposes despite being created perfect. The imagery of walking among fiery stones and being on the holy mountain underscores both his initial glory and the gravity of his fall. In summary, the anointed cherub is a symbol of both divine authority and the tragic fall of a once perfect angel, once- traditionally understood as Satan, (aka Lucifer) whose rebellion introduced sin and deception into the world. My final comments: We could all learn much from this story. Rebellion against God is serious business! It results in rebellion against ALL authority! That’s why I recommend that ALL teenage boys be drafted into the military where they can learn to respect authority rather than stare at their phones and goof off all day. I saw this statement played out many times when I was in the Army years ago! PS: Lucifer has a great fear of falling. That is why the “Bottomless Pit” is so fearful to him! He will experience falling for 1,000 man-years there!
