No Kings – Addendum
By Hal Mitchell
“We have No King but Caesar” was the reply the carnal Jews gave to Pontius Pilate when he asked them “Shall we crucify your king?”
The “Caesar” in this context is Tiberius Caesar, the Roman Emperor during Jesus’ trial, and the statement signifies the Jewish leaders’ political allegiance to Rome and rejection of Jesus’ Messianic Kingship!
My Commentary: Today the situation is quite similar to Jesus’ time. Solomon once said in Ecclesiastes 1:9 “What has been done is what will be done and there is nothing new under the sun.” This phrase points to the repetitive nature of human existence and history.
Today, the Woke leaders in Congress serve themselves instead of God and therefore have no wisdom. This author has a saying “If you don’t know God, you don’t know nothin’” It’s bad grammar but it is true!
PS: The Kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ and He shall freign forever and ever.
