The Re-dedication of America

VS

The Separation of Church and State

By Hal Mitchell

You will hear politicians and others on the Left cry about this great event violating the law of “The Separation of church and state”. I will now introduce my new term for liberals. I call it “Fool-Speech!” The meaning, like the Declaration of Independence says, is by “Self Evidence!”

I am still surprised by the number of people in America who do not know what The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution says. Maybe they just don’t care! In case you don’t know, just open my website, www.PatriotsOnPurpose.com, and click on “U.S. Constitution”. Not to be redundant, but I repeat “It is Self Evident”.

Here is the Truth about “The Separation of church and state”. First of all, it is NOT in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence! This statement came about by a letter written by Pres. Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury (CN) Baptist church who had written to him to inquire if the Constitution had any restrictions against their worship practices.

Here is a summary, taken from “Govfacts” published 8/4/2025. This what Jefferson wrote: He referenced the First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting the establishing of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

The Wall of Separation: Jefferson famously wrote about “A wall of separation between church and state”. A phrase that has become a foundational concept in discussions about religious freedom in the United States. This metaphor suggests that the state should not interfere in religious matters and vice versa.

My Comments: The real intent by Jefferson was to assure the Danbury Baptists that they had nothing to fear from our government about restricting their belief system.
