Lunacy of Global Warming

The term “lunacy” originates from the Latin word Luna, meaning “moon,” reflecting the historical belief that the moon influenced mental health.
The word “lunacy” emerged in English in the 1540s, derived from lunatic plus the suffix -cy, originally referring to intermittent periods of insanity believed to be triggered by the moon’s phases. The Latin term lunaticus, meaning “moon-struck,” was used in Late Latin to describe conditions like epilepsy and madness, thought to be influenced by lunar cycles. Similar concepts existed in Old English (monseoc, “moon-sick”) and Old French. (lunatique, “insane”)
Global Warming
This term was fully endorsed by Al Gore in 1976 during Congressional hearings on the subject. Then he also focused on it when he ran for President against George W. Bush in 2020, which he lost. Before then, he and the Environmentalists changed the term to “Climate Change” to make it more acceptable.
The Lunacy
Environmentalists blame cows for emitting methane gas while grazing. I grew up on a farm and milked cows by hand and I never noticed this “Phenomenon”. Then there is that old nemesis, automobiles. They should be taken “Off the road” for the sake of the environment. When Bill Clinton was running for President in 1992, every other word he uttered was “Environment”! The Environmentalists believed him and he got elected.
Conclusion: In Tucson, the temperature is predicted to hit 110 degrees today and go to 112 degrees on Sat. But, don’t tell Al Gore! I think I’ll spent the next few days in a Tucson “Cooling Center! A cooling center is an air‑conditioned public or private space designed to provide relief and safety during extreme heat.
