Power and Authority
MT. 10:1 & Lu. 9:1
Jesus called His Disciples together and gave them “Power and Authority” over all “Unclean” spirits to cast them our and to heal all manner of sickness and disease. (Mt. 10:1 & Luke 9:1)
Here is what many Christians fail to grasp: They think that these two identical scriptures only apply to the original twelve Disciples. They don’t!
The definition of a “Disciple” is: Anyone who follows the teaching of another! Therefore, if you are following the teaching of Jesus, you are a “disciple” and these scriptures also apply to you!
I hear many Christians bemoan the notion that they are not healed or that their prayers for Pres. Trump and America are not working. If the original twelve Disciple thought this way, there would be no New Testament. (Covenant) A covenant is an agreement between at least two people where one person makes a promise to another person who believes that promise and also agrees to fulfill his part of the covenant.
Furthermore, these same Christians, by their unbelief are saying, in effect, that the lies of the devil are stronger than the Word of God. This is exactly what Satan wants. Kenneth Copeland once said “If Satan can steal the “Word” of God from you he will be able to do what he wants to you. Satan comes for three main reasons “To Steal, To Kill, and To Destroy” and in that order. (John 10:10
