Having What You Say
By Hal Mitchell
In Genesis 1:1, 2 it says: 1) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.3) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
In Hebrew verse three is rendered as “Light be! And light was!” This is how God talks and it is the way He intends for his people to talk. God did not look at the circumstances and say (By the way, the circumstances of the earth being void and darkness being on the face of the deep were caused by Lucifer’s fall to the earth. God does not create darkness or anything void.) “Wow, it’s really dark out there”. In Gen.1:3 God just called things that be not as though they were. He called darkness light and light came into existence! That’s how we, His people should speak!
When Satan brings his evil devices against us we should not accept them. We should resist them with the Word of God. For example, if Satan gives you the Flu we should not say “I guess God brought that on me to teach me something”. WRONG! First of all, God does not have the Flu so how could He give it to you? Then to, sickness and disease is not the teacher. God’s Word (Jesus and Holy Spirit) is the teacher. See scripture below:
Mt. 11:29 – Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
As my Presbyterian Pastor used to say years ago just before he started his sermon “Thus endeth the reading of the word for the day”.
May this word from the Lord edify you and not “endeth the reading of the Word for you today”.
Amen,
