Ringing in New Year
As told by Oreo Cat
Christmas is over; There was Mary and Joseph
And no room at the Inn
There was the Baby Jesus in the Manger
And three wise men.
Now a ball is starting to drop in New York City
As midnight draws near
But what has that to do with a cat
Is this New Year’s Eve? It’s not very clear.
Even Nana’s eyes began to close
And Mr. H. was deep into snoring
Oreo thought “What fun is this?”
“I’ve got to do something. This is boring”.
“Oh! I’ll become Mighty Cat”
“Maybe I’ll sneak down the hall”
“I’ll act like I’m scared and come streaking”
“I’ll jump up with my feet against the wall”
“It’ll make such a sound that they’ll know
Who’s in charge here.
It’s Oreo, Queen of the jungle
I’ll protect you both. Do not fear”.
Yes, little Oreo with the gentle squeak
Has become like a lion with a mighty roar.
Startling Nana and stopping Mr. H’s snore.
As Mighty Cat recovers near the front door!
